A.)This artwork made an impression on me because of how chaotic it looked, it drew my eye in to follow the pink swirl within the work.
B.)I felt a connection with this piece because of how busy looking the work was. I am incredibly busy all the time working full time and going to school. This piece really, I felt, captured this feeling of chaos.
C.)I would like to know where the artist started when doing this piece, and if the final outcome of this work is what the artist expected it to be?

A.)This artwork made an impression on me because it was different than all the rest. This piece had a draw to it that the others lacked. The three dimensional aspect was incredibly interesting.
B.)The connection I felt with this piece was in the changing element that it displayed I found myself intrigued in this artwork for longer than I did with the others.
C.)I would like to know if the artist intentionally wanted this piece to have an optical illusion to it?

The Miseries and Vengeance Wallpapers
A.) This wallpaper piece went on for a long stretch of wall. This made an impression on me. The size of the piece was interesting.
B.)Each part of this wall paper told a story as you walked on. This allowed me to make my own connections to the art of what that story may be based on the drawings.
C.)I would like to know much more about this piece because it peaked my interest in wall paper art.

A.)The color in this painting jumps right out at you. It was impossible for me not to have an impression by this work. The colors and size say it all.
B.)I connected with this piece because it reminded me of war. So many parties involved, and not a clear view f what really is going on.
C.)I would be interesting in knowing how long it took the artist ti create such a huge, detailed painting.

A.)This piece was created out of old fire hoses. This made a huge impression on me. It was incredibly interesting to think that real firefighters used these and now it is art.
B.)Firefighters are risking their lives everyday to keep us safe, so I was able to connect with this piece by appreciating the art used from their worn out hoses.
C.)Where were these hoses from would be one question I would like to know the answer to?

A.)I really enjoyed this painting. It made a happy impression on me. The cow in this picture symbolized normalcy to me.
B.)I made a connection with this picture due to the normalcy of the cow but the surreal effect of the background.
C.)I would like to know more about this picture to find out how the artist intended for this painting to affect people
"Theaster Gates" was done well because the viewer can appreciate the firefighter's risk his life and the art of the tool he uses. I agree with your assessment of Jesus Soto's piece. You cannot tell that it is a 3-D until you get closer to it. It appears from afar to be large letters draw on a piece of paper. Finally, I connected Millie Chen's wallpaper also because I also blogged about it. I agree that the wallpaper told multiple stories that were tragic.
ReplyDeleteThe first piece of artwork was one that caught my attention as well. I really like your point of view on it, and I can totally relate. I can see how it looks chaotic, which is a word that describes my life perfectly when school is in session!
