Module 3 Colors and Emotions

.) Colors are the reflection and refraction of light on objects.  Color has many effects on emotions.  As explained in the video and texts, red is thought to bring feelings of being trapped.  Red can also convey feelings of anger, while blue has a more calming effect.

.)  The idea of color that fascinates me the most is the theory that emotions can be driven straight from the colors we see.  Certain colors appeal to us based on how even the light has been distributed in that particular fiber that creates color.

.) As June continued to change her painting based on the fact that she believed it wasn't capturing the right color tone she wanted demonstrates what was most impacting on me.  The simple change of one tone of red to another made the painting have a completely different feel.  Color is a psychological thing, it has so many meanings, symbols and ideas.  The color creates the feeling for the artwork as June mentions.

.) Feelings effect art directly.  The biggest impact made to me in the second video was about the power of perspective color art on feelings.  The artist will create a work of art with full attempt to convey an emotion, or intensify the religious stories for example. However, the perspective of the viewer can be completely different than the feeling the artist intended for. The video mentions perspective stands for man thinking differently than what he is.  This applies to art for no one thinks the same thing about a piece, unless told to do so, of course.  The color is the first symbol of emotion to pick up on.  Humanity has its own radiating power to understand the message of the painting to the best of their ability.
